Everest Air is the culmination of 3 years of hard work, dedication, and stubbornness from a buddy of mine: film-maker and adventurer Anthony Gordon. He's a fair dinkum bloke if there ever was one.
In a nutshell: he wanted to put together a team to rescue climbers off the slopes of Everest for the first time ever. This would involve bringing together high altitude medics, a special rescue helicopter, and a team of 5 amazing Sherpas to actually pluck people off the mountain and get them to the chopper.
In order to make this possible from a money standpoint, and because he's amazing at this kind of thing, he'd be filming it as an episodic television show. Travel Channel finally came on board and the first season is up and airing.
